Terms & Conditions

These terms outline the agreement between you (the collector or client) and Ru's Jungle Story (Wellington, New Zealand) regarding bespoke stoneware commissions, ready shelf acquisitions, and usage guidelines.

Clause 01

Studio Nature & Ordering Agreement

Ru's Jungle Story produces small-batch, made-to-order architectural concrete stoneware planters. Placing an inquiry or accepting an invoice confirms your agreement to these terms and the artisanal timelines outlined herein.

Clause 02

Bespoke Lead Times & Commission Process

Due to the physical curing and hand-painting stages:

  • Creation Window: Custom commissions generally require 4 to 5 weeks from confirmed reference photos to final varnishing and courier dispatch.
  • Studio Firing & Curing: Unfavorable weather or humid periods in Wellington may occasionally necessitate 3–5 additional days of natural curing to ensure structural integrity. We will notify you promptly in such cases.
  • Proofing: Studio photos of the carved and painted work are shared with you for approval before dispatch.
Clause 03

Pricing, Currency & Invoicing

All prices quoted in direct invoices or estimates are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) unless explicitly stated otherwise. Payment is completed securely via direct bank transfer or approved invoice payment links. Full payment or an agreed commission deposit is required before bespoke physical making begins.

Clause 04

Product Care, Placement & Plant Safety

Our planters are sealed with non-toxic, plant-safe matte sealers:

  • Indoor Recommendation: Our planters are crafted primarily for interior window sills, shelves, and desks. Avoid placing in harsh sub-zero outdoor winter frost.
  • Decorative Ceramics: These planters are intended exclusively for botanical plants, succulents, mosses, and flora. They are not certified for culinary, food, or hot beverage consumption.
  • Cleaning: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth only. Do not wash in commercial dishwashers or scrub with caustic chemical cleaners.
Clause 05

Intellectual Property & Artwork Rights

All sgraffito patterns, animal portrait interpretations, logos, illustrations, photography, and website content are the exclusive intellectual property of Ru's Jungle Story and the artist.

Purchasing a physical ceramic planter conveys ownership of that individual craft object, but does not grant reproduction, licensing, or commercial replication rights to the artwork.

Clause 06

New Zealand Consumer Law & Jurisdiction

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) or the Fair Trading Act 1986. These terms are governed exclusively by the laws of New Zealand, and any disputes shall be resolved in New Zealand courts.
